Russia’s highest court has ruled in favor of the second-largest case against opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
Navalny was convicted of insulting a World War II veteran and has been fined around € 9,500.
Earlier, the court dismissed the appeal of another case filed against him on a three-year prison sentence for breach of bail.
His supporters claim that both charges are a political conspiracy in which the government seeks to silence the opposition to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
